How do I stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic?

With COVID-19 spreading in most countries, it's important that you take precautions when using trash nothing.

Because the situation is changing every day, please make sure to follow your local government guidelines and orders. There are links to national guidelines for some countries at the end of this message. You should search online to find what applies to your specific location.

If you are in an area that is in lockdown, you should stop using trash nothing or only use trash nothing for essential items.

You should not use trash nothing to give away or receive items if you are sick or at high risk for the virus.

You should maintain at least 6 feet (2 meters) distance from other people when giving or receiving items. You can leave items outside for pickup rather than handing them over or you might consider delivering items if you are unable to leave them outside.

Remember to wash your hands with soap frequently and clean items you receive with soap or a solution containing at least 70% alcohol. You can find more information about how to clean and disinfect items at the links below.
