Seedlings from a Quercus sadleriana growing happily in Seattle. This oak is self-fertile but there's no guarantee of parentage, oaks being what they are. These are supposed to get 10' x 10' as an understory plant. It's a PNW native but not a western WA native.
Mine has been on an east-facing fence under a big miscanthus in sandy loam/glacial till for a decade and might be 5' x 5' at this point. It did bulk up nicely in the first couple of years after planting out (age 3-5). So far it adds a nice textural note to the border and hasn't needed any babying.
I'll give them away up to 5 at a time until it's clear no one else wants one.
