Free: Leaking down comforter (Wallingford) Gifted This is an old, old full size down comforter, maybe 30-40 years old. It leaks down and tiny feathers copiously. You should not try to use it as a comforter unless you have really good repair skills, not even inside a duvet, because it will continue to dribble its contents out all over the place. You could use it to stuff something anew. If I haven't utterly discouraged you, please let me know when you'd like to pick it up. Contactless porch pickup in Wallingford.
Free: used yoga mats (Wallingford) Gifted These mats are old and well-used, but they can still cushion you from the cold floor while you do your downward dogs, or you could use them as padding under a rug, or in the garage. Your choice!

Free: Dahlia tubers (Wallingford) Gifted I dug up and divided my dahlia tubers today. I have grown these red dahlias in bad dirt and lousy locations as well as in good dirt with plenty of sun for more than thirty years. They do better in the good locations, but they bloomed and reproduced in the bad locations also. If you give them good dirt, you'll need to divide them in three or four years; in bad dirt, it will take a little longer.

Free: Elderly math and physics textbooks (Wallingford) Cutting-edge college-level science and math from 50 or 60 years ago! Compare these to current textbooks and see how much has and has not changed since then. Use them as doorstops! Give them away as party favors!

Free: Gold-trimmed wood picture frame (Wallingford) Gifted Gold-trimmed wood picture frame, 13.75" x 16.75". There was someone looking for fancy frames a bit ago; is this fancy enough?

Free: Lots of seed beads (Wallingford) Gifted Lots of unfinished seed bead projects, several bags of beads as well. You may find the project techniques interesting enough that you'll want to finish them, or you may just want to take them apart and use the beads for something else. Your choice! No-contact porch pickup in Wallingford.

Free: Defunct vintage roller skates (Wallingford) Gifted Extremely elderly roller skates, no longer functional as skates because the leather uppers are falling apart. Look at the solid undercarriage! These are the kind of skate wheels people used to repurpose to make skateboards, back before you could buy skateboards already assembled. They weigh approximately a ton. Skates were last used to skate around the Microsoft campus late in the last century or maybe very early in this century, before the leather died completely. I'm not mentioning the shoe size because (did I already say this?) these skates are not functional as skates.

Free: Two large mirrors (Wallingford) Withdrawn Two mirrors: 24 X 30, 30 X 41. The larger mirror has beveled edges and is attached with little brackets to a chipboard backing; the smaller one is flat glass with no backing. Objects in mirror in picture are not included; they're just there because it's hard to take a picture of a mirror on a porch without showing something reflecting in it.

Free: Canon printer ink cartridge (Wallingford) Why do I have just this one Canon ink cartridge? Does it fit your printer? No. 6 yellow, in carton, clearly never been installed.

Free: Classic games (Wallingford) Gifted Classic games: Sorry, Clue, Triominos, and a deck of cards. The tokens for Sorry have long since been lost, but we replaced them with some K'Nex pieces. Optionally, you could use the Clue tokens, or pick up some Monopoly tokens somewhere else. Some of us have been known to use pennies, dimes, and nickels as replacement tokens. Your grandmother's old buttons would undoubtedly work as well.

Free: Peony tubers - already promised (Wallingford) Gifted A whole lot peony tubers, some with clearly viable eyes, some just solid tuber all the way down. I should have divided this plant about 10 years ago, but I was blissfully unaware that it was secretly multiplying its rootsas if it had good soil to grow instead of clay. Want to take a chance with this plant? The flowers are a lovely pale pink, as shown above. Peonies often do sulk for a few years before blooming.

Free: Two-drawer rolling file cabinet (Wallingford) Gifted Two-drawer rolling file cabinet. This cabinet is the right shape and size for storing sewing patterns, which is what I did with it for many years. It doesn't take hanging file folders.

Free: Small random red wooden shelf (Wallingford) Gifted Small red wooden shelves. We used it to hold cookbooks. The picture shows it lying on its side rather than upright. I don't have measurements and it's currently in a storage locker, but I'd say it's about 2.5 feet high and maybe 2 feet wide. We put a drawer pull on the side and used it to hang towels.

Free: Old shotgun shell ad (Wallingford) Gifted Ad for shotgun shells from 1946. Why do I have this? Why would you want it? It would be a great kitschy decoration for your funky rec room, right next to the taxidermied deer head your great-uncle left you. I don't have a rec room or a taxidermied deer head, so I don't need it.

Free: Hot water bottle and heating pad (Wallingford) Gifted Hot water bottle and electric heating pad. Old tech plus new tech! There's some other old med supplies in the box; you're welcome to take 'em or leave 'em.

Request: Embroidery floss (Wallingford) Received Anybody have a lot of embroidery floss you don't want? Maybe you stopped sewing several years ago, or inherited your great-aunt's stash? I'll take it! Any color floss, cotton, rayon, or silk. I'm embroidering butterflies and beetles, which come in an astonishing array of colors. Thanks!
