Venn board game (Britannia)
There are plenty of winter nights ahead of us, to enjoy board games with friends! This new thing sells for $20+ on Amazon – check out the product details: From a pet-free, scent-free, and smoke-free home, located in the Britannia area.
Free:
novelty scarf hanger (Britannia)
Gifted
I no longer have enough scarves to put this to good use – it's cute, but not really necessary About two feet high, holds about 20 scarves ... or socks, or stockings, or whatever you might like to use it for!

Free:
Verilux therapy lamp (Britannia)
For when the long, dark winter nights make you feel SAD, try this 6000-lux daylight "natural spectrum" lamp to boost your spirits. This is an older model – all the newer kinds look like tablets! – but still works fine, and can be used as a task lamp. From a pet-free, scent-free, and smoke-free home, located in the Britannia area.

1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle (Britannia)
The best jigsaw puzzles have tons of detail, and this colourful undersea scene scores very highly! It's just what you need to occupy the long, dark, cold evenings of winter. I started doing it with a friend, and we were always squabbling over who got the box lid with the image ... so I made a couple of "cheat sheets" for us (see pic). It's a Ravensburger product, so good quality. But sadly, we never finished the project: my apartment isn't big enough to have such a large object spread out for several weeks. It was new when I bought it, with all the pieces in an unopened bag ... and I'm pretty sure I didn't lose any in the short time it was open. From a pet-free, scent-free, and smoke-free home.

Free:
pale sea-green lampshade (Britannia)
This pretty colour no longer matches my new décor, so I hope somebody else can make use of the shade for a standing lamp. The drum-style shade is about 16” across and 10” high, and has the kind of attachment that goes over a harp on the lamp (with a screw-top finial). From a pet-free, scent-free, and smoke-free home.

DVD of *Casino Royale (Britannia)
Gifted
Daniel Craig's first outing as James Bond, being dead sexy. A two-disc full screen version. A couple of special features also included.

Free:
curtain rod, 63" (Britannia)
A silvery pewter colour, this three-piece rod could also be shortened to 40" using just two pieces. It's missing one of the end doodads.

Free:
most of a big roll of carpet tape (Britannia)
I no longer remember whether this is the exact brand from the photo ... but the stuff is "still sticky, after all these years." It's not quite a full roll of double-sided tape, but would fasten down a few carpets or rugs – or anything else that needs sticking together.

Free:
Goody hair rollers (Britannia)
Gifted
This case contains almost 30 new, unused rollers (no pins, though).

Free:
two battery chargers (Britannia)
I've had these for ever – since my kids were young enough to have toys with batteries. So I would get rechargeables, and juice them up when they ran out of power. The batteries themselves are long since dead, and for all I know these chargers may be too. But if you have any rechargeable batteries, maybe you could check out these things? One holds two AA batteries, the other 4. They both plug into a wall socket.

Free:
wheeled plant stand (Britannia)
Gifted
I got too enthusiastic pushing this thing around, with too heavy a plant pot on top – one of the wheels broke off. I'm sure it can be fixed with some superglue, or soldering ... but it's a two-person job, or at least requires more dexterity than I have! The thing is about 14" across, with a pleasing faux-pewter finish. The detached wheel is with it.

Request:
new-ish Android tablet (Britannia)
This may be rather a big ask, since I'm relatively new to the TN community ... but nothing ventured, nothing gained! My Huawei MediaPad tablet is on its last legs, after four years of faithful service. The battery says it's fully charged ... then five minutes later, it just shuts down. My son tells me that such things are never designed to work for more than a few years (because manufacturers are bastards). Replacing the battery would cost more than a new tablet – but before I go shopping and spend the big bucks, I'm checking here. I know that new laptops often come with a tablet attached – I bought mine on Kijiji from just such an arrangement. Did anyone here get such a freebie they'd be willing to part with ... ideally another 10-inch model, so it fits my current case? Merci beaucoup, and fingers crossed!

Free:
sun umbrella for deck (Britannia)
Gifted
This is totally the wrong time of year for this item ... but maybe you're driving down to Florida, and need an extra brolly?! I don't have a base for it, unfortunately, so you'd have to source that separately.

Free:
2 boxes ginger-peach herbal tea (Britannia)
Gifted
I'm quite fond of this "tisane" ... but not nearly as fond as my dear friend is, of giving me boxes of the stuff on all conceivable occasions! I now have a stash of three unopened boxes, which is more than I'm likely to drink in a couple of years. Pro tip: I always put a sliver or two of actual root ginger in the pot – and sweeten it with maple syrup. For a *really* delectable winter toddy, add a splash of bourbon! (I also occasionally drink it in summer, as iced tea.)

Free:
elegant floor lamp (in pieces) (Britannia)
Gifted
A "handyman special" – I was really quite fond of this uplighter, so when the trilight socket broke, I foolishly thought I could maybe fix it myself. Alas, not so! Once I had taken the thing apart, I lost enthusiasm for the job ... but maybe somebody else could put it back together, and enjoy it? When properly assembled, it's about 6 ft tall, with a marble-ized glass shade.

Free:
(rather wonky) food processor (Britannia)
I've had this Hamilton Beach appliance for decades, and it's got progressively more battered and awkward. It still "works" – i.e. the motor turns on, the blades go round, and food gets smooshed. But it's rather a battle to get it all together ... so I was very happy to get a new one for Christmas. (The first pic shows my actual unit; the second pic the same model in a thrift shop – in much better condition.)

Request:
plastic grocery bags (Britannia)
Withdrawn
For many decades, this simple holder for plastic grocery bags occupied a corner under my kitchen sink; and I would reach into it every time I needed a bag. But in today's more virtuous world, it's sat empty for several years! Might there be any TN member who actually has an abundance of these things squirrelled away, who could let me have a dozen or so? (Apart from anything else, they're good for wrapping up "porch pickups," to protect them from winter weather.)

Free:
book on guitar picking (Britannia)
Gifted
A friend gave me this when I started to (try to) learn guitar recently ... but it's way above my skill level. You have to actually be able to read music, which I can't! Maybe a smarter person could use it?

Free:
comfy red ladies shoes (size 9) (Britannia)
Gifted
I really hate to give these up – they're comfortable and look good. The shoes are in good shape, and the sole is nice and grippy. But over the past few years, as I've packed on the pounds, my feet seem to have grown a size – they no longer fit! (But the European size seems off ... it *says* 37, but that wouldn't fit me at all.)

Free:
small lamp, no shade (Britannia)
The lampshade I had broke, and I don't love this thing enough to bother replacing it. Works fine. About a foot high, exclusive of shade.

Free:
interesting cupboard unit (Britannia)
Gifted
Another curb rescue, this is slightly battered – but still has some life left in it, as a storage unit. (If I felt inclined to fix it up, I'd remove the chicken wire from the upper part, and replace it with glass or plastic.) Measures 30" tall x 11" wide x 9" deep (the decorative top, which is loose, adds a few extra inches.)

Free:
tall, thin shelf unit (no shelves) (Britannia)
Gifted
Another curb rescue. Missing the actual shelves, but maybe you could improvise some? About 7' tall, faux wood finish ... possibly IKEA.

Free:
two round 9" springform cake tins (Britannia)
Gifted
While baking over Christmas, I realized I hadn't used these for decades – and likely never will again. They're in good shape, and can go to a person who actually might make a cake!

Free:
sturdy wooden chair (Britannia)
Gifted
Another curb rescue. This fine wooden chair has a few scratches on the seat, but nothing that a cushion couldn't cover up. Quite glossy and attractive – but I have no room for it.

Free:
small off-white cabinet, with doors (Britannia)
Gifted
This was one of my curb rescues, and is a tad on the scruffy side. It fit nicely in my former kitchen (with a decorative tray on top, to hide the scuffs) – but is now surplus to requirement. It measures 21" wide x 15" deep x 30" high. Hope somebody can use it.

Request:
armless chair (Britannia)
Expired
Hi! I'm furnishing a rental room for an incoming student, and she's asked for a chair without arms (as pictured). (I *used* to have one, but gifted it because it was getting no use ... typical!) If anyone has such a thing to spare, I'd be grateful for it. I live in the Britannia area, but could pick up from anyplace reasonably central or west-ish. Thanks for your consideration, Antonia.
