Free: leather handbag straps (Britannia) My purse came with these short extra handles, which I never use (because shoulder straps are best). They're black, 16" long, rather stiff and curved, and have loops at the end for attaching them. Or you could repurpose them for something else entirely!

Free: cheap plastic trays (Britannia) I used these dollar-store trays to go under my big plant pots, in case they leaked water. One actually did – it has rust marks on it – but the others are unmarked. The big ones ("gold" and "silver") are 15" across, and the small one is 11".

Free: new bag with corporate logo (Britannia) Gifted My former employer used to spend a lot of money on these ugly branded giveaways ... instead of doing the sensible thing, and providing better wages and benefits! It's about 16", unused, and perfectly useful ... if you don't mind the stupid logo (I hate them).

Free: vegetarian cookbook (Britannia) Withdrawn The book that launched Yotam Ottolenghi as an international food celebrity, *Plenty* is "a visually stunning book, offering fresh and exciting flavour combinations that are sure to become mainstays for readers." Filled with delicious-looking photos and delectable recipes, this book will inspire you to up your game when it comes to cooking veggies.

Free: 8-litre stock pot, with no lid (Britannia) Gifted A big, sturdy pot, made in Italy from 18/10 stainless steel (the highest grade available). Holds just over 8 quarts; measures 8” high, and 10” wide at the base. The handles have heat protection grips. Missing its own lid, though any 10” lid from another big pot fits just fine. (It used to be a pressure cooker, but I managed to lose the locking top.) This vintage model (by Aeternum) is almost 40 years old. But it’s only rarely been used – as you can see from the photos, it’s almost virgin (even on the bottom).

Free: striped wrapping paper (Britannia) My roommate left this behind when she moved out, and couldn't be bothered to make a return trip for it. It's the size of ... a roll of paper. Unopened.

Free: two mustard-yellow bath towels (Britannia) Gifted These are freshly laundered (of course), and awaiting a new owner. They're not *quite* a matched pair ... but you have to look really hard to see any difference between them! They measure 26" by 46", and are in good shape, with no rips, stains, or unravelling.

Free: various makeup items (Britannia) I've overhauled my makeup case, and realized I haven't actually used these things in years. Two eye shadows (creamy white and pale blue), barely used; two pale beige concealer sticks; two lipsticks, vaguely pink/red; and three coloured eyeliner pencils – blue, purple, and green. I understand one can just swab or dip with alcohol, to disinfect things like this. If you can use any or all, you're welcome!

Free: silvery-grey tote bag (Britannia) This was once my dance bag, but my knee is too arthritic to dance any more! I have enough other bags, so this is now surplus. It's about 14-15" wide, and a bit battered on the bottom – more utilitarian than stylish. The inside is plain grey fabric, with no rips or tears ... but no pockets either.

Request: car seat heater / electrical genius (Britannia) Withdrawn I've used this plug-in thing for several winters, but suddenly it broke – I believe the Achilles heel of this item is the wiring near the plug, which seems to have frayed. If anybody has a functioning plug-in heated seat to give away, I'd be grateful. Alternatively, if anybody knows how to repair this item, that would also be appreciated! And failing that, I guess I could just donate this item to anybody who wants a non-heating seat cover....

Free: small table lamp, without a shade (Britannia) Withdrawn This doesn't match my decor (I bought it for my student's room), and then the shade broke. You would have to source your own. It's about 14x" high, and has the (annoying) kind of switch that's on the cord, rather than the socket.

Free: two battery chargers (Britannia) Withdrawn I've had these for ever – since my kids were young enough to have toys with batteries. So I would get rechargeables, and juice them up when they ran out of power. The batteries themselves are long since dead, and for all I know these chargers may be too. But if you have any rechargeable batteries, maybe you could check out these things? One holds two AA batteries, the other 4. They both plug into a wall socket.

Free: curtain rod, 63" (Britannia) Withdrawn A silvery pewter colour, this three-piece rod could also be shortened to 40" using just two pieces. It's missing one of the end doodads.

Free: small pink purse (Britannia) Gifted Wee fuschia-coloured item, evening-bag sized, with detachable handle; beige interior. Measures about 10" x 6". Gifted by a friend, but too small for daily use.

Request: 10" Android tablet, new-ish (Britannia) Withdrawn My four-year-old Huawei mediapad has given up the ghost, after four years of faithful service. The battery says it's fully charged ... then five minutes later, it just shuts down. Replacing the battery would cost more than a new tablet, so I'm checking here. I know that new laptops often come with a tablet attached – did anyone here get such a freebie they'd be willing to part with? Ideally another 10-inch model, so it fits my current case. This may be rather a big ask, since I'm relatively new to the TN community ... but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Merci beaucoup, and fingers crossed!

Request: piece of glass, 17"-ish square (Britannia) Withdrawn I'm wondering if anybody has a spare chunk of glass hanging around, that I could use to cover this bedside table with? I've been trying to find one at a thrift store ... but the best source is picture frames, and big ones are rather expensive! Fingers crossed.

Free: miniature drawer unit (Britannia) Gifted For years I've used this thing for stationery ... but who writes letters any more? Measures 11" high x 10" wide x 14" deep. Suitable for storing small things for workshop, etc. In good shape, except for small chip on one side (I fumbled as I was washing it).

Free: tiny humidifier (Britannia) Gifted This billed itself as a "desktop vaporizer" when I bought it years ago, in desperation, because I had a cold. But that was long ago, and I haven't used it since. It's very small – see the other objects in the pic for scale – and only holds about half a cup of water. Still, that seems to last for several hours.

Free: bottles of non-alcoholic "wine" (Britannia) Gifted A friend said she enjoyed this stuff, so I bought a small pack. I should have remembered that my friend's judgment is far from infallible! I won't say it's "cat's piss," exactly ... just that the flavour is a long, long way from the New Zealand sauvignon blanc that's my usual tipple. These three are about the size of a beer bottle.

Free: Microsoft wireless keyboard (Britannia) Gifted This is several years old, but I’ve never actually used it – my son gave me a better keyboard at the same time, so I stuck it in a closet and forgot about it. The little tab doodad that plugs in, is taped to the keyboard in a little bag.

Free: floor lamp with shade (Britannia) Gifted I now have so many lamps, it's time to divest a few. I once repainted the (slightly scratched) gold-look base and pole, and the result was ... less than perfect. Maybe you could do a better job! It's a tri-light lamp, with bulb, and comes with a shade that attaches to a harp fixture (see pic). There's also an option, if you prefer, for a different shade – it's in one of my other posts.

Free: moving/storage boxes (Britannia) Gifted My housemate moved out recently, leaving these behind. There are ten of them, broken down – one is set up to show the size. They've been used before – at least once, according to the labels – but are still in good shape. Take some or all.

Free: badminton racquet (Britannia) Gifted It's been literally decades since I last played – and for all that time, this thing has been sitting in the back of my closet, waiting for me to get around to it again. Time to let someone else have a go! I doubt it's up to professional standards, but the strings seem okay.

Free: gift pack of scented lotion (Britannia) Gifted This is one of those random "stocking stuffer" items that women love to give each other around Christmas! In my case, I'm allergic to scents; so this will have to find a new home. Two unopened tubes of perfumed skin gunk, awaiting their new owner.

Free: Verilux therapy lamp (Britannia) Gifted For when the long, dark winter nights make you feel SAD, try this 6000-lux daylight "natural spectrum" lamp to boost your spirits. This is an older model – all the newer kinds look like tablets! – but still works fine, and can be used as a task lamp. From a pet-free, scent-free, and smoke-free home, located in the Britannia area.
