These weekly magazines were all the rage in the 1970s and 1980s. The articles inside cover a range of crafts: Knitting, sewing, clay, patchwork, quilling, rugs, making lampshades, soldering, dyeing, weaving, cross-stitch, embroidery, glass and leading, pebble painting, wood staining, woodwork, basket weaving, metalwork, strip and restore wooden furniture... Unfortunately, there is one edition missing - the newsagent of the time ordered a different edition for number 59... still Golden Hands, but sewing and knitting only.

The bed is a large oval section of woven waterproof fabric which could be used for other outdoor projects such as weed suppression in a garden, allotment or digging a pond. It has metal hoops sewn into the edging so it could also be pegged down easily to secure in place.
