Rainbow Playhouse with swings and slide (Five Ways SW19)
This playhouse was bought in kit form (e.g. wall and roof panels screwed together with coach screws) from Rainbow Play systems in about 2002. The timber is Canadian redwood. A shingle roof was added about 10 years ago to extend the life of the timbers by keeping them dry. It is now creaking a little when the swing is used and several timbers are rotten at the foot where it has been standing on a base of bark chips. It can be restored by being dismantled and rebuilt using new timbers where necessary. As it is in a rental property, we cannot justify the cost of the labour for this work. But it could be given a new lease of life by an enthusiastic amateur with some weekends to spare. We will help with dissassembly if necessary.

Mystery Object (Ewell)
This ancient artefact, discovered behind my fridge, consists of 6ft of perfectly circular piping (possibly alien origin), capped at one end with an ingenious rubber, um cap, with a metal tightening ring of very substantial durability. The other end, in a design masterstroke, is left open, and ever so slightly wonky or elliptical as archaeologists would say. Its true function is unknown - experts are baffled - but Dr Xavier Schlippenbutt of the Sasquatch Institute has suggested a variety of uses : spider hypnotizer, two-man musical bongo, domestic bone organiser, neighbour wall "shut up" knocker, and as a ceremonial pillar-of-water used in fertility rites. One thing's for sure...it's a fascinating object, and this is a rare opportunity to be its next custodian. A certificate of authenticity can be supplied, but personally I wouldn't bother.
