I think they are made of wool (they were in the house when we bought it)

Flymo easiglide EG300V hoover electric mower. 10 years old; original cable with no damage. Does the job, never gone wrong: doesn’t collect the grass very well, but no big deal. Comes with the spanner required to loosen the blade when needed.
