Would anyone like this bunch of cat toys and games? Fussy cats did not appreciate my effort to create a ball pit for them and got bored of the other ones. All to go together and if possible by 4pm today (Bruntsfield).

Perennial pink thistles / Cirsium rivulare 'Atropurpureum' (Clerwood EH12)
I have 4 spare clumps of Cirsium perennial plants that need a good home. I often refer to these as “pink thistles”, full name is Cirsium rivulare 'Atropurpureum'. Some garden websites will tell you this is a ”short-lived” perennial, but I’ve been growing mine in my clay soil for years, and they always come back and have bulked up and been divided into lots more plants, so they seem to be made of tougher stuff than they are given credit for! Usually they don’t flower until around June/July, but of course everything is early this year, so they’re coming into flower now. The leaves will go a bit tatty after flowering, but deadhead after flowering and trim off the tatty bits of leaves, and you’ll get new growth and more flowers later in the summer. Note for parents/pet owners - although these are “thistles”, the leaves of the plants are far softer than those of our native purple thistles, and so although the leaves are a little bit spiny, they are softer prickles and don’t have super-sharp spikes like native thistles have. They do best in sun to get lots of flowers – a quick google will give you full growing requirements. The leaf clump will grow to around 50cm, with the flower spikes maybe around 60-100cm tall (shorter on younger plants). When replying, please advise how many plants you’d like (max 4 available). Clock. It works but it's been through a lot - including falling off the wall and getting glued back together! The glued part is on the top so if you hang it up on the wall it should hopefully look good from that angle. It has a loud tick so probably not suited to a bedroom. Collection in Rosyth.
