Fireplace back bricks (Bilton HG1)
In traditional fireplaces, there are two loose firebricks at the sides and one at the back. Any size would be useful and if too large, they could be cut to size. All three are needed in cold weather, for burning logs from a nature reserve. When funds allow, a log burning stove will be installed. In the nature reserve, lots of cut wood is piled up and left to rot down for wildlife. For the same reason, dying and dead trees are left where safe to do so. To minimise my environmental impact, I would prefer to collect as close to HG1 as possible. Failing that, HG2, HG3 or HG5.

Scrap Book For Upcycling (no.2) (Harrogate HG1)
Scrap Book (old) (no.2) Dimensions: Height: 37cm Width: 25cm I used this as a postcard album when I was growing up. The postcards have been removed, but there are still photo corners on some pages (these will come off) and also all the annotations for the postcards which used to be there. The central double page is loose. The cover has come away from the rest of the album. Could be used for an art project, I think, or maybe something else.

Scrap Books for Re-Use / Upcycling (Harrogate HG1)
Scrap Books on offer. These were used by me for my postcard collection as a child/young girl, hence all the annotations (which can have things stuck on top of them!) and photo corners (which can be peeled off). It would be a waste to put these into paper recycling (without the photo corners, of course), when I know they could be re-made into great scrapbooks of whatever kind. Here and there a double centre page has come loose, but of course could be re-attached/taped in - not rocket science ;) A couple of albums have come away from their cover. Ditto. Taker is welcome to choose whichever album or albums they prefer, including all of them if so desired. More photos available. Will send these to anyone who is interested to see more details of any particular scrap book.

Scrap Book For Upcycling (no.3) (Harrogate HG1)
Scrap Book (old) (no.3) Dimensions: Height: 37cm Width: 25cm I used this as a postcard album when I was growing up. No loose pages. Could be used for an art project, I think, or maybe something else.

Scrap Book For Upcycling (no.4) (Harrogate HG1)
Scrap Book (old) (no.4) Dimensions: Height: 36.5cm Width: 24.5cm I started using this as a postcard album when I was growing up, but only filled 1/3 of the pages. The postcards have been removed, but there are still photo corners on 1/3 of the pages (these will come off) and also all the annotations for the postcards which used to be there. All intact. No loose pages. Could be used for an art project, I think, or maybe something else.

Non Fiction / coffee table Books for Harrogate Hospital (Harrogate HG2)
I heard that Fountains Ward at the hospital was looking for books for its patients so I popped along there. I spoke to a lovely lady there who has actually has bought some out of her own pocket! She says that they have loads of fiction - particularly chick lit - but would like 'coffee table' books - lots of pictures which would be good for people with dementia., and books on sport, war etc. If you have anything which fills the bill and which you don't want, I'm more than happy to collect from Harrogate and take it in!
