Good-quality hardwood, with walnut finish (which is dull after many years of loft storage, but should polish up well). Height 5 feet. Originally the cable ran from the bulb-holder through the centre of the column, but when we acquired it the cable had been cut off at the bottom. Unless you can find a way of boring through the column to reinstate the original arrangement, you will need to have a lead trailing from the bulb-holder.
