Request:
LAPTOP for Fudger House SENIOR (Parliament & Wellesley Streets)
I volunteer at Fudger House, a City-run long-term seniors' care home--and resident David Dingwall, 69, told me he has no net access because he can't afford a device. Fudger House doesn't have building-wide WiFi but there is a mobile hotspot, so if he had a portable device, he could access the net! If you have an old laptop that works, he would be immensely grateful. ~ Denny.

You know how pill bottles often come with a “plug” of cotton at the top? This offering represents a whole bunch of those, plus similar from other packaging (yes, I’m a crazy woman to have collected it, but it just seemed like it would be useful for *some*thing… someday… ha! :). Thinking maybe small stuffed toy? Very small pillow? Hoping someone feels more creative than I do. :)

Kobo - Arc 7 HD (needs work) (Midtown)
Pickup near Eglinton and Mt Pleasant. Kobo Arc 7 HD, circa 2013. Model T146. This is a bit of a project. Apparently the old Kobos got a mandatory update a few years ago that keeps them from connecting to wifi, so you can’t update the apps, add books, etc. I was at least able to get it past its initial error but hit a wall. It can successfully turn on, go to menus but most apps rely on wifi, which doesn’t work. I believe there is a work around but it seems like it’s a lot of work. I got this from my building’s recycling area so I don’t know its background. Also seems like it might benefit from a battery replacement. Charges with a micro USB.
