I’ve no idea if this is the real deal but I can only presume it is, given that it feels pretty robust and looks like it might have even been used. It’s quite big! Made of plastic, has a couple ropes attached. I’d love to hold onto it because I think it’s very cool but it will just sit around and degrade so I’m passing it on

Large clear kettle, from Brita, with their water filter mechanism inside. In very good condition, except for one important factor: it doesn't work. Sadly, it has an electrical fault somewhere. We don't know if the problem is in the wire from plug to kettle base, in the kettle base itself, or perhaps even in the kettle. Replacing the fuse didn't cure it; instead, when we turned the kettle on, it's red power light flashed on for an instant, then the fuse blew. We have neither time nor energy for another project. If you do, this might make a terrific project for the next local Repair Café.
