Free:
wool balls for laundry dryer (Britannia)
Over the years I've accumulated rather too many of these things ... I have six that are surplus to requirements.

Free:
Fender amp (Manor park)
Promised
Working condition unknown as I am not a musician. It does power on, but i cannot test it beyond that. Porch pick up.

7h
Free:
several dozen scraper blades (Britannia)
I bought these on Amazon recently, failing to notice that I was ordering not a ten-pack ... but a box of a hundred! I can lead a long and scrapy life, and never need this many. If you'd like to put dibs on a dozen or so – or even just half a dozen – I'm happy to split them up for people.

7h
Free:
2 pairs new red compression socks (Britannia)
I bought these last winter from Amazon, because I wanted knee-length socks to match some burgundy pants. Alas, I failed to notice that these are actually *compression* socks ... and for ladies with very slender legs. My calves are so fat, I can barely get them on! If more than one person is interested, they can take one pair each.

7h
Free:
Unsalted Butter (Kanata Lakes/Beaverbrook)
Two pounds of unsalted butter that I bought by mistake. Bought recently and kept in the fridge. Never opened... still tightly wrapped as you would find it in the store. Porch pickup in Kanata Lakes.

7h
Free:
large ladies (or small mens) boots (Britannia)
I bought these mukluk-like things from a thrift shop at the first snowfall, just so I could have some warm winter footwear. Now I have proper boots, though, so these can go. They're so big, they make me look like Frankenstein's monster! (But with very cozy feet.) These would fit a lady up to size 10 or 11, or even more if you remove the thick felt liners. They're not pretty, but they have excellent tread.

8h
Request:
Splatter guard (Gatineau Rue Nobert)
Any size, reasonable condition! Can pick up!
8h
Free:
(slightly bust) ladies swim fins (Britannia)
I've worn these things for many years, to swim in the river; but last summer, apparently my feet got too big – one of the fins split down the heel. I was planning to repair it with superglue and a leather strip ... but since they're now too small for me, I figured they'd just break again. My shoe size WAS 8.5, and that's what these would fit comfortably – if you feel like fixing them. I know swimming season seems like a long way off!

8h
Free:
12 pairs of “queen size” stockings (Britannia)
In the depths of my wardrobe, I discovered a couple of hangers loaded with this long-forgotten collection of nylon stockings. I haven’t worn skirts since I stopped having an office job (also stopped having a waist). These would fit a 14-16 lady. I’m now much too fat to fit into them, being more like a 22! I’ve laundered them all, and checked for rips or tears – they’re in pretty good shape. Various colours, as shown.

8h
Free:
four pairs of ladies shoes, 8.5 (Britannia)
I've put on so much weight in the last few years, my feet will never be 8.5 again! Also, I never wear heels any more – it's time to let these favourites go. 1) A pale blue pair by Rieker, leather uppers with decorative cutouts. Hardly worn. 2) Dark blue heeled pumps, with a strap over the foot. 3) Silver-coloured strappy sandals. Again, hardly worn ... they were always a bit too frivolous for me. 4) Dancing shoes, black fabric with pink strap over the foot. All are comfortable to wear, and the soles and heels are in good shape.

9h
Free:
large and elegant shawl/drapery (Britannia)
I actually got this thing from here, but it didn't quite work out for my purpose! Too big to actually wear, this drapery measures 100”long – including the thick and luxuriant fringes at each end, and 80” wide. Would look lovely draped over a piano, or hanging from a wall, or even doing duty as a curtain. The brown and gold colours give a general effect of amber.

9h
Free:
Yotam Ottolenghi veggie cookbook (Britannia)
The book that launched Yotam Ottolenghi as an international food celebrity, this is a must-have collection of over 120 vegetarian recipes. A visually stunning book, offering fresh and exciting flavour combinations. Filled with delicious-looking photos and delectable recipes, this book will inspire you to up your game when it comes to cooking veggies.

9h
Free:
portable wireless amplifier (Britannia)
Designed for transportation use, this small unit plugs into a standard 12-V vehicle port (cigarette lighter). There are a few minor scrapes and scuffs on the box, but it still works fine. Comes with instruction sheet. Check out its capabilities and specs at

9h
Free:
ObusForme massager (Britannia)
Promised
The sad truth is, it’s really hard to give yourself a good back massage! This thing has been sitting in the back of my closet for a long time, waiting in vain for somebody to wield it. Now it’s time to let someone else have a turn. This “professional” model # is TM MGR 01 – check out the specs at However, I seem to have lost the extra head attachments – I just have the currently installed set. The cord is a generous length, about 9’ long.

9h
Free:
mantel clock (Britannia)
Promised
I paid a ridiculous amount for this at a fancy furniture store … even though I doubt it's *really* made by the prestigious old firm of Rutherford Clocks (London, England). I guess it’s just a cheap knockoff … the back says “Made in China”! Measures 11" high, 7" wide, 2" thick. Roman numerals; AA battery operated; keeps good time; quiet (yet audible) tick-tock. I once thought of painting it crimson and gold, to give it a bit more decorative oomph – you could do that.

9h
