Vintage 80s CD Player (Oxford OX2)
I'm looking for an old 1980s era CD player to learn vintage electronics repair and servicing on. Philips and Sony made the first ones and often these models were rebadged and sold under other names, Philips in particular did this. Early models had a CD laser that was on a swing-arm which looks super interesting and I'd love to know how they did this, so if you have something from that era gathering dust or ready for recycling, please can I give it a good home? Lots of them apparently stop working, but it's 40 years so I can understand why. If I can get something working again that would be awesome, and just to see how it sounds! Everyone has Spotify now, so CD players are unloved, so if I can recycle or at least try to bring one back, that's a Bingo! Thank you! Greg
