I don't know if youngsters use things like this these days - we made them using a cotton reel. "Used to produce narrow tubes of knitted fabric, this multi coloured French knitter comes finished with a charming and fun design on lacquered wood. Perfect for teaching children the basic principles of knitting." There are lots of instructions how to use this on the internet. If you'd like this give me a time for collection from Kidlington.
