Crutches Mobility Aids for Children (By Hackney Downs station E5)
Donate used crutches and walking aids to help children receiving treatment at CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital in Uganda. Items will be sterilised, refurbished and given directly to patients who need them. We are looking for elbow or underarm crutches, walking frames, rollators, walking sticks, canes and paediatric walking supports. Items must be structurally safe and height-adjustable; children’s sizes are especially needed. Donations are needed by Sunday 25 October. Please send me a message with a photo so the item can be checked. If suitable, I will pass your email address to my friend Kenyah, a UK-based volunteer coordinating the donations, so she can contact you directly to arrange collection from your doorstep. I bought a few years ago 2nd hand and refurbished a by cleaning and treating the wood. It's in good condition. It's structurally sound, although does sway a little, but I think that's just due to uneven ground levels. The only issue is one of the threads for the slide screws has broken - you can see this in the pic. The slide stull work anyway and is safe. A repair may be possible for the slide, or you can get a new side which I believe the company sells individually. You'll need to take it all down and move, a 2 person job which will take about an hour probably, and you'll need a van. My daughter has really enjoyed this and I'll be glad to find it a new home.

I am building a digital museum to celebrate the magic of our local areas, and I am looking for old items that you might be clearing out, rather than seeing them go to landfill. I am gently looking for items such as: - Sealed 2000s/2010s snacks or drinks (e.g., Dairylea Dunkers, retro sweets, old-school squash). - Old Tech: iPod Nanos, Motorola Razr phones, old digital cameras, blank CDs/DVDs, or old charging cables. - Stationery & School: Lisa Frank folders, glitter pens, old diaries, sticker books, or colouring cards. - Media: 2000s/2010s DVDs (e.g., The Parent Trap, Toy Story, Disney Princesses) or old music CDs. - Accessories: Lip Smackers, sparkly hair bows, leopard print accessories, or old novelty keyrings. ⚠️ IMPORTANT BOUNDARIES (Please Read): 1.
