This event that has already happened.
Join us at Makerspace in Edward Boyle Library for our monthly Repair Café.
Skilled volunteers will be on hand to help you fix your broken items and keep them in use, including:
* Clothes, shoes, textiles, and jewellery
* Phones, laptops, and tablets
* Small appliances (kettles, toasters, desk lamps)
* Music and audio equipment (amplifiers, speakers etc.)
* Children’s toys
If you would like to volunteer at the Repair Café, please [email Chris Bowie.](mailto:C.bowie@leeds.ac.uk)
A Repair Café focuses on sharing the skills to repair your items. You will be able to make use of the facilities in the Makerspace, including a 3D printer, sewing machine and overlocker, soldering stations and hand tools. There is no cost to use the Repair Café although you may find you need to purchase parts for some repairs. Our volunteers will be able to advise you on anything you might need as well as helping you with repairs.
You can find Makerspace on the ground floor of Edward Boyle Library. Use your University ID card to enter the gates and turn left, and you'll see signs for Makerspace before the staircase.
No booking is required, just turn up any time between 1pm and 4 pm. If you have any questions then please [email Chris Bowie](mailto:C.bowie@leeds.ac.uk).
Each month the Repair Café will take place on a different day to help ensure as many people as possible can make use of it.
== Hosted by University of Leeds Repair Café ==
The University of Leeds Repair Café launched in November 2023 as a collaboration between the Sustainability Service and Library Makerspace.
We host monthly events during term time supported by students, staff and community volunteers at our cutting-edge Makerspace facility on campus.
Our events provide opportunities for anyone to learn about repair and fix items free of charge. We also provide training and development opportunities for student volunteers supported by Leeds Repair Café and community volunteers.
Upcoming events are listed at [Events Archive - Sustainability](https://sustainability.leeds.ac.uk/events/)
