Very sturdy wooden stool with laminated legs bolted to the seat. There’s some water damage to the top, and a bit of the top layer of laminate is missing, but that doesn’t affect it’s function - I think a baby elephant could sit on it without damaging the stool! Was my late mum’s, and is now surplus to requirements.

Free:
BT ADSL Home Hub 5, Type A with PSU suitable for OpenWrt (City of Bristol BS9)
Chipset: Lantiq XRX200 SoC with Atheros wireless — the well-documented, well-supported combo for OpenWrt. One of the more popular "cheap DSL router to hack" devices in the OpenWrt community. You get a proper VDSL2/ADSL2+ modem, 5x gigabit ports with real VLAN-capable switch, and wifi all under OpenWrt — not just a dumb AP. The catch: flashing needs UART serial access (a "chopstick"/jumper-wire rig into test points on the board, no soldering required with the popular method), then TFTP-booting the install image over Ethernet. It's a well-trodden process with guides — not experimental — but it's more involved than a stock web-UI firmware upload.
