I remember now how we used it and Chatgpt confirms it is still a good way to stream music in vehicles without Bluetooth. The Macally Full Channel Digital FM Transmitter (FMTF) niche use case is "Car Audio: If you have an older car with a radio that doesn’t support Bluetooth, an FM transmitter like the Macally FMTF could still be useful for playing music from a phone or MP3 player through the car’s stereo system. However, newer Bluetooth FM transmitters (with better sound quality) might be a better option. Broadcasting to an FM Radio in a Limited Area: Some people still use FM transmitters to broadcast their own content (like podcasts or music mixes) to nearby radios, such as for personal radio stations, hobby projects, or events."
