Sunflower plants with roots (Glen Ellyn)

Hi there! I have had really bad luck twice trying to grow sunflowers from seeds. My backyard falls into woods and i would love to put these plants so that it can serve as bird food as well. Please let me know if anyone would like to share few with me.
