In good condition roof racks gifted to me recently. Hoped they'd fit on my Subaru Forester. I clamped them on to the side rails successfully but the extra stretch left part of the winding mechanism open. Originally were on a Subaru Outback which must have slightly narrower side rails. I felt the strength may be compromised by the extra stretch so I have removed and am passing them on to someone with a narrower car.
