IKEA reversible bed (Wakefield WF1)

My daughter has loved this reversible bed but is now too tall to comfortably climb in and out of it. As you can see, we have customised it and adapted it over the years. The second photo shows a shelf I've attached, but my daughter points out that this only works if you sleep at the ladder end. Let me know if you don't want this and I will remove it and keep.
