Brita kettle (Wayfield ME5)

Hi everyone I have a brita kettle in
Good working order only thing it doesn't switch off and as per picture the top of the lid is broken where you would lift it off to pour in the water but water can be poured on the spout.
It with a new cartrigde giving it any as we were gift with a new kettle .
