Small CD player (Barlborough S43)

The plug-into-computer disc player i've been loaned won't play my DWP PIP assessment CD's, though it will play normal music ones through the pc. I think it's a software problem with the computer, so hoping someone has a working player I can use beside the pc to check the truth [or lies] about my assessment. Would freegle on or return to giver once this job is done.
