For some reason we couldn't get the sprinklers to follow the instructions that we programmed. So I'm not sure if the problem is with the timer or not, but I replaced it with a different timer and we didn't seem to have any problems. Therefore you might need to diagnose any issues when using this timer. It definitely turns on and programs. AC adapter included
