This item is for the serious do-it-yourselfer or repairer. If you want to repair an existing pedestal fan or to use the motor & mechanism for other purposes this item is in excellent fully working condition. Our pedestal fan casing deteriorated (plastic started to crack and powder) until it was not safe to use so I have removed the motor, the reciprocation motion generator with the main mounting, the control buttons and the mains cable and plug. (The circular cage which protected the blades is also available which might be useful). I am really not happy about throwing away what must have represented 90% of the original £50 cost of the fan and is in perfect working order.
