This pressure cooker is not electric. It works on a hob. You fill it with whatever you're cooking eg. stew, Christmas pudding, leg of ham, etc and slot the lid on. The pressure builds and is let out through a valve at the top. This means the cooking time is less than if you simply heated the job. Great if you're cooking for a crowd.
It was my mother's and hasn't been used for years but she left it in a good condition.
