Free player piano

For someone who's handy, curious, and has patience and time, this player piano offers a great opportunity for the mechanically minded and curious to bring back to life a fascinating piece of technology from yesteryear.

To use technical terms, these pianos are really really cool.

It also comes with about 30 rolls of music.

A little background. I got this for free from someone just after Covid hit. I only had to pay the movers.

I thought it'd be an excellent and challenging project to occupy myself and my preteen during those strange times.

Indeed it is an excellent and challenging project, but it was a little overly ambitious, especially from a time commitment standpoint.

I would gladly share correspondence that I had with one of the experts on restoring these pianos, an extremely knowledgeable and patient and passionate restorer.

And if you're local and you get it running, I would love to come over and see it work.

So, if you are patient, curious, mechanically minded, and just a little passionately impractical (in the absolute best sense of the words 😉) this is a great project.

The only cost would be to pay to move it.

It is not light.
