It is not missing or broken. The shelves were always open like in the photo. This is a very heavy desk. It will need to be picked up and moved by at least two strong people. Vintage 1960s Whitney spinet piano and bench in Northampton. The piano has been well maintained, has an excellent sound with good action on the keys. It has a full keyboard but is small so fits in small spaces. Due to its age it's tuned 1/2 step below concert. The piano is free and the owner can help with moving if the cost is prohibitive for a person/family who wants it.
