🌱 **Help us build a purposeful outdoor learning space for KS1 children!** 🌱 I am a local primary school Year 1 teacher hoping to transform our currently very limited outdoor area into a welcoming, hands-on learning environment for our children. We are looking for **unwanted or pre-loved items that can be given a new purpose**, including: 🍳 Old pots, pans, bowls, wooden spoons, whisks and baking trays for a mud kitchen 🪣 Buckets, jugs, funnels, containers and tubes for sand and water exploration 🪵 Wooden crates, logs, planks, pallets and other safe loose parts for construction 🌱 Plant pots, gardening tools and containers for growing and nature activities 🎨 Chalkboards, clipboards, paintbrushes and other outdoor mark-making resources 🔍 Magnifying glasses, bug viewers and other items for exploring nature We aren't looking for lots of plastic toys. We're hoping to create **open-ended, purposeful provision** where children can use everyday and natural materials to build, investigate, imagine, problem-solve, develop language and communication, and explore maths and science through play. Very little used. We bought this for visits from our grandson about 6 or 7 years ago and it is not needed anymore. In very good condition. Has not been involved in an accident. Vax Carpet Spot-Scrubber (St. Dunstan's CT2)
Vax mini carpet spot cleaning machine, for spills & pet "incidents, muddy boot prints etc. Quite old & well-used (& now replaced with a much newer version) but still does the core job of sucking moisture out of the carpet just as well as it ever did. By design, the blue tank contains a mix of water & detergent, & has a little thumb-pump built in to spray that on to the carpet, let it soak for a moment, the rotating brush underneath works that in the carpet & then it sucks the dirty water back out & collects it in the grey tank. In practice the pump was hopeless & we quickly learned that that for spills, just suck it up then clean, for dried muck, rub some of the excellent Dr Beckmann carpet cleaner (available in all supermarkets) into the dirt, wait a minute or two, dribble some water onto it from a cup, then use the machine to suck the dirt up. If muck is more widespread or stubborn, get one of those cheap pump sprays that gardeners use, fill that with a mix of hot water & carpet detergent & wet the dirty patch with that mix, rinse & repeat 'till clean. Site (Screwfix own brand I think?) padded & reinforced socks. Sizes 7-11 according to packaging but I (size 9.5) find them hard to put on & too tight on the calfs. Once they're on they're extremely comfortable all day, though. Possibly they'd loosen up with age & use but I've got other socks so if anyone has a use for these I'm happy to pass them on, otherwise I'll persist with them if they're unwanted. One packet has never been opened, the others have been worn a maximum of twice & have been washed since! Collection from Whitstable Road area of Canterbury CT2, please.
