I've just taken down a Handicare 2000 stairlift after moving into a house. It was in full working order before I took it apart, so wanted to offer it out before taking it to the dump in case someone needs it. It was fit to a staircase with a bend in it but I imagine you can pick up different parts if you need it. I'll be taking it to the dump on 17th Dec so pickup before then please. Computers for disabled people (North Laine BN1)
Thank you for reading my posting! I am a retired computer engineer, and during the last year I have given away a number of computers and printers, some via Freegle, and I have tried to donate them to people in need, especially those who are disabled. Very often this equipment has come to me by my own daily scavenging of the council electrical recycling bins (in the face of hard competition) and also from what people have left in the streets across Brighton, where I regularly walk for 2 hours every day. So I have now finally decided to try appealing directly to anyone who might wish to dispose of computers that may be recyclable in this way, before they go into the bins! What I am looking for is any machines that may be capable of running the Linux Mint operating system to some degree, which means Macs from around 2007 onwards, or PCs which shipped with Windows 7 or 8 and onwards. If you are worried about your data, I can offer a written guarantee of data destruction, or else to remove the hard drive from the machine and return it to you. I can collect from you within the Brighton and Hove area. I will accept machines that are not currently operating, or may be usable for parts. Since the start of my appeal here I have already been offered 3 usable machines, and I hope this can continue.....
