Some years ago a new and enthusiastic member of Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon proposed that we should organise a climate change questionnaire in the town centre with someone dressed up to attract attention - the only snag was we had no suitable climate change costumes so, without a lot of hope, we posted the following on Freegle (then freecycle) : WANTED: climate change related costume e.g. Polar bear, penguin, tree. To our astonishment we got an almost instant response: 'you won't believe this but I have a polar bear costume looking for a good home.' The donor lived only 10 minutes walk away from my house and ever since the polar bear has done a brilliant job raising the profile of Climate change, appearing at our own events, at student climate strikes, at rallies in London and Bristol, outside county hall in Trowbridge and been lent out to climate change groups around the county. Good old Freegle!
