Perfect for small spaces. Lightly used. Bought on Amazon April 2026.

Free:
Diamond-texture shower curtain (Dalston E8)
Heavy plastic shower curtain, not-quite-clear, with a textured diamond pattern. Most of a set of mauve curtain rings (still attached) is included. Somewhat yellowed with age but otherwise in good condition — except for some yellow blobs at the top, near one end, from dishwashing gloves that perished in storage. Curtain could be cut down for a small tub of shower, the blobs could be ignored, or maybe with a little work they could even be removed. Either way, it will work as a shower curtain or drop cloth.

8h
Free:
Old barbecue cart, no wheels (Hackney E8)
Barbecue table/cart from Homebase. (BBQ not included.) It is in fair condition: • Needs a spray can of heat-resistant paint, partly because of age and partly from being used to hold items being painted. • Used to have two wheels, but they are gone. Replacements are available, though a couple of bricks also will work. We don't need it anymore.

8h
Free:
Lampshade, small (Hackney E8)
Not quite 8" at base by not quite 7" tall (see pix). Gold tone fabric with beige braid trim top and bottom. Used. A little dust and denting, which probably can be removed by someone who has a clue.

8h
Free:
Side table, Mid-century or earlier (Dalston E8)
Pale wood and wood veneer side table or nightstand, with a shallow, near-invisible top drawer, an open shelf below the drawer, and a closed compartment below that. It is very lightweight yet strong, and provides efficient storage. The veneer on the tabletop, sadly, is delaminating and otherwise in poor condition; it needs repair or perhaps replacement with a new wood or marble top. A possible top is shown above. It can be included but is not yet attached. A sliver of veneer is missing at the bottom of the drawer front. A small sliver at the bottom left side of the cabinet is still attached but needs reglueing. Otherwise, the piece is in surprisingly good condition, though it would benefit greatly from a better clean and a few rounds of polish. The existing cabinet top is 36.4 x 29.8 cm, so a large ceramic or stone tile could be cut to fit. (Yay for the Library of Things and its tool collection!) The carcass of the cabinet is 35 cm wide by x 28.4 cm deep. The dark wood top (not yet attached) is 46 x 30 x 1.2 cm.

8h
Free:
Glass, 63 cm by 47 cm (Hackney E8)
A single pane of glass, 47x63 cm (not quite 25" x 18.5"). Suitable for a greenhouse, a picture frame, or similar uses. Not the right size for our purposes, but in great condition.

8h
Free:
White tile and offcuts, various (Hackney E8)
Tile mosaic material, anyone? .A variety of glazed white tiles and tile pieces, which began as thin six-inch squares, some porcelain and some terracotta. Two uncut six-inch tiles, one porcelain. Several broken tiles. An assortment of slender and very slender offcuts. One bonus six-inch-long quarter-round edging tile. As pictured. They could use a clean to remove tile dust and, on one, old measurements (already erasing themselves). Two older tiles have old grout in the back. Crafty folk might want to rent a tile cutter from the Library of Things to make something new with these and other tiles.
