Spider plants (Bedford)
Baby spider plants free to a new home. My spider plants have gone mad making new ones. Rather than compost them I wondered if anyone would like a few for their home. Happy to split all that’s available between people, you don’t have to have them all, otherwise you be overgrown with Spider plants in a few months! Some are rooted in compost, these will be given away without the pot as I need that for other plants. Some will be cut from the mother plant ready for you to pop into some compost to grow on. Collection from Goldington Road area of Bedford.

Pelmet (Bedford)
Gifted
Shaped hardboard pelmet attached to wood. Great at keeping out light from above the curtains. We had this in our children’s bedroom and it has been painted several times as their room was redecorated, hence the motley of colours. At one time I filled in the space in the centre with card and painted that to match, see last photo, to cut out even more light. Measures 214cm wide, 26 from top to bottom and the “shelf” is 15cm so that curtains can be still be easily pulled open. It was attached to the wall by 3 or 4 cheap & simple L brackets, using the wooden top like a shelf.

White paint (Bedford)
Expired
I’d love some white eggshell or satin wood paint for a small craft project I need to finish. Looking for paint to seal some wooden shelves with a matt or low shine finish, so not white gloss paint. Don’t really want to go to Wickes & get a tin, even a small one, as much of it won’t get used. Hoping someone has a part tin which they could pass on to me. Thanks in advance.

Electric lawnmower - pls read fully (Bedford)
Gifted
This Bosch lawnmower has given us many years of great grass cutting but it recently had an issue. I’ve made a repair which seems to have solved the problem, but want to be honest about its condition. I’ve also fitted a new drive belt a few months ago. Please only respond if you are happy knowing the following. I have repaired the lawnmower with 2 sets of duct tape holding the carbon brushes in place, see photo. When the motor has mains electric feeding it, the brushes allow the electricity to make the motor spin, and thus the blade to cut the grass. There should be 2 tiny pieces of plastic holding the brushes in place, each about 1x2mm. These have broken off, hence the tape to hold them in place. The mower does work fine like this. I was outvoted by other members of my family and a new one was ordered, otherwise I would have kept this one for many more years. It has a 40cm wide blade and a long lead so is great for larger lawns. The handle folds over the body to make it smaller to store, as in the photo. Please include in your message that your happy with the repair as described, why you’d like it and when you could pick it up.

I’d love your empty jam jars & other glass jars, with their lids please. I make marmalades & jams to sell as a fundraiser to enable young women in Malawi receive bursaries enabling them to attend university. I’d prefer to pick up several jars at a time rather than 1 or 2, but if you’re in the Castle Road area or De Parys ward then I can combine a walk with a pick up so happy to receive whatever you have. Looking for any size from standard 1lb jars down to the size Tartar or Apple Sauce come in, ~150g Many thanks

Sewing items (Bedford)
Received
I'm reaching out with an opportunity that is close to my heart and has the potential to make a profound impact on the lives of students at a vocational training centre in Malawi. Having personally visited this centre several times over the past few years, I've witnessed firsthand the dedication and eagerness of these students to learn valuable skills such as tailoring. I'm asking for items such as fabric scissors, pinking shears, french curves, and sewing machines (electric, hand-cranked, or treadle). If you have any of these items to spare, I would be immensely grateful for your support. I'm available to collect items within the Bedford area over the next couple of weeks, making it convenient for you. Additionally, if you happen to have bricklaying, carpentry, or metalwork tools gathering dust, please consider passing them on as well. While my focus is primarily on empowering young women through tailoring and fashion design, I'm equally committed to fostering opportunities for all students at the centre, especially as a few girls are on these courses. Thank you for considering my request, and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or items to share. You can see our flyer at

Colour laser printer (Bedford)
Gifted
3-in-1 wireless colour LED printer with touchscreen display Print, copy and scan with ease with the DCP-L3550CDW. Designed to be desktop friendly, and used in busy home and small offices. This 3-in-1 device is both feature rich and offers great flexibility in one quiet and compact unit. I received this printer from a fellow freegler/trash nothing a few months ago when I was planning some work which required a laser printer. That work didn’t happen and this printer is just taking up space in my office. It does need some attention as it prints faintly. The previous owner had tried new toner cartridges and it comes with some spare ones. Could be something relatively simple, such as a need to clean the drum. It is heavy, around 23kg, so definitely needs to be collected by car from the Devon Park area of Bedford.
