Free: Refurbished Personal Computers - Nottingham (West Bridgford NG2) Sometimes, we receive older computers that we refurbish in order to be able to gift them on Freegle. Usually towers, occasionally laptops or netbooks. At the moment, they may be more suitable as a child's first/early (basic) computer rather than a student on a higher education course. If you are (or you know of someone who is) not in a financial position to buy a computer, and if you supply some information, we may add your/their name to our waiting list: • What type of computer you are looking for (tower or laptop etc). • What the PC is for, so that we can match you/them with one that is suitable for your/their needs • Any information regarding your/their circumstances that would help us to prioritise those most in need We will let you know when we have added your name to the waiting list. • These computers are offered for personal use and must not to be sold on. • Please be patient as it can be several weeks between PC donations.

Request: Headphones. (West Bridgford NG2) When watching TV or listening to music late evening I always use headphones so as not to annoy anyone else. Mine are well past their best and should have been recycled a while ago. I am looking for either closed back (image 1) or open back (image 2) wired headphones (not Bluetooth). so, if you have recently moved on to a Bluetooth alternative I would grateful if you would offer your older ones. Request: A Secret Wish by Propaganda on CD (West Bridgford NG2) I haven't heard it for a while because my copy was 'eaten' by a hungry CD player. Several tracks have sentimental/nostalgic meaning for me. I am after the CD so that I can play it in on the Hi-Fi and rip to Flac for the car to avoid feeding another CD eating beast. Request: Amazon Firestick, Remote and Power Supply. (West Bridgford NG2) Our "Smart TV" has gone 'as dumb as a bag of hammers' so I am looking for an Amazon Fire Stick (not necessarily the voice activated version) to give the TV some extra life. I would be OK with collecting the three parts from seperate Freeglers if you only have the stick, remote control or the power supply. So, if anyone has upgraded, I would appreciate the 'old one'. Free: Headphones (West Bridgford NG2) Gifted Donated to me by the lovely Lady Cee but, unfortunately, they are too small for me. Perhaps, better suited for a child sized noggin. Only tested so hardly ever used and still in the original packaging.

Free: computer speakers (West Bridgford NG2) Gifted PC world PC speakers rated at 2W. They connect to the headphone socket on the PC/laptop and a USB socket for power. Or they could be used to replace a TV's speakers if they have failed. Good condition and working fine when tested.

Request: Samsung Charger (West Bridgford NG2) Received I am trying to find a charger/adapter for a Samsung Galaxy Tab2. Someone has donated the tablet but I cannot tell if it is working without being able to charge it up. Consequently, I am unable to prepare it for gifting. Request: Computers (West Bridgford NG2) I am a retired Advanced Lecturer in electronics. I am currently looking for computers and laptops that I can refurbish and gift to people who are not in a position to buy. Suitable computers for donation were/are: Purchased during or after 2015. i.e. Windows 10 computers (that may or may not be Windows 11 compatible). Note: Microsoft's support for Windows 10 ends in October 2025. Laptop or desktop tower (including standard, mini and micro towers). I do not charge anything for my time or the computers so it helps if they are in working order. Many people remove the hard drive as a security measure though it is not always necessary. Microsoft gives advice and instructions on how to prepare your computer for donation. Just search for "How to Prepare Your PC For Sale or Donation" and select the Microsoft's Support Page. If you prefer, I can remove personal data (by securely shredding and formatting) before carrying out a total re-installation of the Operating System (Windows) in accordance with Microsoft's instructions. If it is not possible to re-install Windows, I install the Linux Mint Operating System as that helps to make any personal data impossible to retrieve. Demand far outstrips supply so I am grateful for donations. Thank you for your consideration.

Free: Wood (West Bridgford NG2) 5 X 7 wooden shed that has been smashed apart and probably not fit for reconstruction, just scrap wood. IMPORTANT: Not suitable for burning in a confined space as it has been treated. Starting at the end of November this will be disposed of bit by bit over the following weeks and months so there will be less of it as time passes.

Free: Plant pots (West Bridgford NG2) Withdrawn About 11 of various sizes and colours. Trays for the three (Homebase) green ones included. I would prefer to let them go as a job lot. All have been used so would need a good clean before use. Stored in a shed for quite a while.

Request: Windows 11 Non Compatible Computers (West Bridgford NG2) Expired I am a retired Advanced Lecturer in electronics. I am currently looking for computers and laptops that I can refurbish and gift to people who are not in a position to buy. I do not charge anything for my time or the computers so it helps if they are in working order and 10 years old or less. Many people remove the hard drive as a security measure though it is not always necessary. You can do a secure destruction of personal data using Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky etc. "File Shredder". Usually, right click on selected files and select "Shred using....". Be patient though as it can take a while to complete the process of deleting and over-writing the area on the drive many times over. I remove personal data (by securly shredding and formatting) before carrying out a total reinstallation of the Operating System (Windows) in accordance with Microsoft's recommendations described here: If it is not possible to re-install Windows, I install the Linux Mint Operating System as that helps to make any personal data impossible to retreave.
