Armchair, manual footrest (Near Newtown)
62d
- This is not a recliner. Backrest not affected by raising footrest. Comfortable in both positions. Footrest most easily raised by companion/carer, as it takes a little strength and determination from seated. Of course, the fit and the strong need to put their feet up too! Just pointing out that this is not suitable for an elderly solo person! I had it second hand about 5 years ago, with the armrests predictably a little worn. It has been covered with a throw, in non-smoking home, and remains in pretty good, clean condition. Mechanics work smoothly and perfectly.

- These trees need to be felled to give the sycamore space...so if anyone knows they can use a 20ft tree, with a 10ft base - ?school, care home, church, village hall? - then that would be something ticked off your "to do" list...and a happy tick on mine!

Light Garden Spade (Near Newtown)

- Does anyone (between Newtown and Llandod) have a shed where spades have been breeding over the years? Sorry to say I have lost 2 this year to wild campers...lent to them to remove turf before making a fire. Feel inclined to chain any future spade to a stake concreted in the ground...but how wild would that be?!

- I did number the following descriptions to match the pictures...but the picture order, when posted, keeps changing! I think you can work it out! * Teasel babies easily removable from gravel..at the moment! * Slow off the mark this year, due to drought, but demonstrating 2 year's growth. Babies will shoot to 5-10 feet next year, attracting butterflies...and, over the following winter, goldfinches. * Still fun as perches around the bird table, in their 3rd year...and have been used, some years, as sweet pea supports! * No picture. Final use, decorative, or, in short lengths, great for starting the fire! Win - Win - Win - Win!

Please forgive me mentioning it...but I would REALLY love it if I knew I could cut these trees, later in the year, and donate to a good cause...school, church, care home... - Small farm offering guaranteed pollution- and pesticide-free forage. At 1000ft elder flowers are only just coming into bloom...so if you have missed to pick in lower, earlier regions...or if you just can't get enough...or only just found enough bottles....! Seeds of the female nettle are in that super food category...and they are fantastically abundant this year!

Oregano root bundles (Near Newtown)
Expired

- This oregano, in flower, is much much loved by bees. I knew the leaf mass wouldn't survive the move to make way for scaffolding, so I trimmed it and am drying it in the sun. The root bundles are soaking, and should transplant happily - would be happier transplanted than living in a drakepond (the duck is sitting!)! Happy to hear from you if you can give (some of) it a home ☺

- A dozen school children will be presenting a couple of folk style dances at the Robert Owen birthday celebration in Newtown on 13th May. If someone or some other group has a bunch of wrist ribbons stashed away, it would be lovely to add some (any) colour and fluttter to the occasion!

Prolific, Runaway Strawberry Plants (Near Newtown)

- I am winding down on shepherding, and would turn the farm over to strawberries if i weren't at 1000ft! I planted 6 in the orange container, and the following year the runners had invaded the rectangular bed. Last year they set off along and across the paths...from which you are welcome to "weed" whatever your garden and your picking time can manage. Maybe alert your neighbours...

- Hallo Freeglers Far and Wide! Hoping to strike gold with this request, before these 3 pieces, held in place by the stone, strike um domestic gold below! (It is a Victorian cess pit, if that's not too much information). Measurements (from that era) are Imperial: 20x26inches. Something more recent at 510 x 660mm might do it... If you are upgrading an older property, thanks for checking your scrap pile!

Humane Trap (example shown) (Near Newtown)

- A mink has felled all my hens (a dozen) and a duck, over 3 nights...and been seen in broad daylight, coming for the remaining duck and drake...who now live in the kitchen! I'm wondering whether anyone might have a humane mammal trap...I'll rephrase that...a humane trap for small mammals, which is no longer in use.? As a result of a concern expressed in response to this request for a humane trap, please be assured I do not intend to rehome the mink anywhere! I am farming for wildlife, and share my world with many animals - both wild and domestic - that might be trapped first!

- I spend considerable time scything thistles on this small farm, but enjoy this structurally stunning variety in the garden! Butterflies, bees and finches love the flowers and the seeds. Plants grow to the height and strength of tall bamboo canes, and so I grow sweet peas up them the following year! Then the heads can be used in flower arranging/craft projects. Meanwhile, babies from last year's seed appear around the garden, to rise to their full glory next year - plenty of time to remove to curtail unwanted spread...or to give away!

Christmas trees (Near Newtown, Powys LD1)

- Not a fan of starting Christmas preps over early...but with a Squeeze going on for everyone, I am keen that some families who might otherwise have to make cuts in this area, come and cut or dig themselves up a tree. I never like to throw a tree away, and these need thinning on the farm (not a Christmas tree farm) so I though I'd offer them up now for reserving, so I can plan for space created, and others can plan for a space happily filled. They are upwards of 4ft, most around 5-6ft, and some are "wonky"...but in a way that wouldn't matter if up against a wall! A few are 15-20ft, and might suit a school, church, care home setting. My togs are on the line, and I look forward to YOU calling on ME! Father X.

2 boxes Lawn Repair (Near Newtown, Powys LD1)

- 2 unopened boxes the same ( it may not be obvious, photos show front and back of one box), each containing 30 patch treatments! Very kindly given to me by my 1st wild campers - one of whom works where this stuff is made! I am on a sheep farm, where grass is my main crop...including in the garden, where any needing special care at lambing, stake their claim among the poultry. We don't do Lawn! Maybe the campers thought I might have to touch up patches in the fields after subsequent visitors?! Happy to rehome boxes together...or separately, to spread the love. Sheep available too - but on a different site!

- As new. Bought by mother in her 90s to puree food, but never got out of the box! Box = 5 x 6 x 8 inches, for scale. Apologies for poor quality pic of back - principally shows this can also be used for making mayonnaise.

- Hallo Freegle Folk! Yep, I'd never heard of this tool before either - so, sharing a good new scrabble word, if nothing else comes of this request Hoping, however, that someone - or someone's grandad - might have downed tools, and that this one, for splitting wood to make shingles, is dreaming of a new lease of life. My son, who is learning skills to make use of timber we have felled, wants to add this to his repertoire.
