- I am volunteering with an organization called “Making Prom Happen”. makingpromhappen.ca Each year they collect prom related items that teens need and distribute them to teens in Mississauga and Bramalea. I am collecting items until April 17. Here is the list of items needed: Girls: Fancy Dresses Dress Pants Blouses Skirts Tops Dress Shoes & Flats New Make Up Jewelry Shawls Shrugs Purses Handbags Tuxedos Boys: Dress Pants Dress Shirts Ties & Bow Ties Shoes Suits Tuxedos Vests Please donate items that teens would be excited to wear. They should be clean, modern and in good repair. No items from smoking homes and no items from grampas closet. Please let me know if you or anyone that you know would like to help out with a donation. I could pick up in the Toronto area. I am looking for warm clothing and other items to give to newcomers to the country who have come here with no winter clothes, homeless people and other less fortunate families. The name of the organization I volunteer with is called “Out of The Cold”. I am collecting the items from Now until February. The following items are needed: Snacks: Granola Bars, Protein Bars Clothing Items: Mitts, Hats, Gloves, Scarves, Underwear, Bras, Socks, Hand Warmers, Pants, Long Johns, Leggings, Jackets, Sweaters, Coats, Boots Toiletry Items: Depends Adults Diapers, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Mini Kleenex Packages, Hand and Face Cream, Small Shampoo Bottles Gift Cards: Tim Horton’s, Fast Food Restaurants, Grocery Stores Wool & Knitters: We are always looking for donations of new wool and people that can knit and crochet hats, scarves, neck warmers and mitts. In past years, we made and served dinner and breakfasts to the less fortunate at Knox United Church. This year, due to Covid, we will not be serving warm meals at the church, but rather handing out lunch bags, clothing, and toiletry items to approximately 110 people in the first week of February If you would like to contribute in any way, please let me know. Note: I am collecting the perishable food items at the end of January, but I am collecting all other items from now until February.
