Swing and slide (Hillfields BS16)
7d
- We got both of these off of trash nothing last year from two different lovely but we now giving them away again as we have upgraded! The swing frame we couldn't take apart as the bolts were rusty and the slide we didn't try to take apart. Both fitted into our LWB van easily enough. The swing will need digging into place or new screws and plates to put into concrete to stop it tipping.

bathroom sink incl tap + pillar (Hillfields BS16)
Expired
24d
- A bathroom sink which we originally got from this site, but then weren't able to use because the plumber bought a new one without asking us! So it is untested but as far as we know it all works. The condition of the sink is generally OK but there are 3 things to mention: 1) There is a medium size crack inside the bowl. This is a surface/aethestic crack, not a deep structural one. See picture. 2) The tap seems loose, so I think the washer and/or nut which hold it in place probably need replacing. 3) Overall it could do with a quick clean after being unused for so long. Unfortunately it will have to go to tip if not collected by Thu..

- One side (the side with the label in the photos) is stained, and has creaky springs. The other side looks fine and the springs feel fine on that side too. So both problems seem like they could be solved by flipping in on to the side that is in better condition. Unfortunately, if it isn't taken by Thu it will have to go to tip..

- Stained one side but looks fine on the other. My housemate already got a new one because there were 2 hollows (maybe where the springs were in bad condition?) but as far as I can tell the springs seem fine on the other side - so I think this is also easily solved by flipping it.

- We have the following tiles up for grabs: 11 x white speckled tiles, 299mm x 299mm 7 x dark grey tiles, 299mm x 299mm 6.5 x light grey tiles, 296mm x 296mm Judging by the size and weight of them I reckon they are floor tiles rather than wall tiles, but I guess you could use them for walls if you were really confident of the strength of your adhesive! Please say in your reply when you can collect, and *include at least one option that isn't last-minute!*

toilet (Hillfields BS16)

- A toilet which we originally got from this site, but then weren't able to use because the plumber bought a new one without asking us! So it is untested. When I was checking it over the flush button seemed to be missing a spring. I'm happy to fiddle with that more and see if I can fix it (and reattach the lid) if someone is interested in principle. The condition of the toilet is generally OK but some things to mention: 1) There is some limescale deep inside the u-bend. Could be removed with concentrated acid/descaling tablets. 2) Flush mechanism needs more checking/fixing, as mentioned above - though even the worst case scenario, a new flush mechanism would still be cheaper than an entire toilet! 3) Overall it could do with a clean after being unused for so long. Measurements or more details on request.

lots of sand (Hillfields BS16)

- Large quantity of sand (about one and a half huge bags full). It is (and has been) stored with a tarp over it but the moisture has still gotten in so the sand is damp. Since there's a lot of it, we'd be open to people taking only part of it if they want - but please say when replying roughly how much you want.

toilet flush inlet mechanism (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
232d
- An inlet valve for a toilet flush. The model is a Siamp Compact 99B. As far as I can tell the parts all seem to be there. The rubber washer looks a bit perished from age so it might be worth replacing that with a similar one.. but for anyone that needs one of these mechanisms, I imagine getting a small washer would still be easier and cheaper than having to get the whole mechanism. Measurements or other details available on request.
Free:
braces / brackets + poles (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted
232d
- 5 sturdy braces/brackets, they were originally 'height reducers' for a fitted wardrobe but could be adapted for other uses. This includes several spare poles, including 3 longer ones which could be used to make them taller. Have a look at the photos. Measurements or other details on request.
Free:
brand new brake pads (Hillfields BS16)
Gifted

garage (incl poss transport!) (Hillfields BS16)
Expired
233d
- (reposting as we are now happy to do the dismantling ourselves without help; it looks like it will be easier than we thought...) We need to get rid of our garage which is made of fairly thin concrete panels bolted together - it's a pretty simple system. Would anyone like some or all of the parts, either to reconstruct it elsewhere or to use the parts for your own project? Please read all the details below. The garage: * ..has an area roughly 2.85m x 5.05m. * ..has a height roughly 2m at the sides and 2.45m at the ridge. * ..has a big metal (up and over) door, a side wooden door, and a window. We can: * ...do the work of taking the garage down. If you want to be here for some of the process so that you know how it fits back together, just let us know. * ...help with transporting the materials to you (probably, depends how far away you are and how busy our driver is). If you want to reconstruct it you will need: * ...to sort out your own foundations. * ...to get hold of new roof panels, because the current ones contain asbestos so we plan to dispose of them. However, we can supply the metal roof structure that new panels would fix to. To copy the current roof you would need 16 panels, each 1.5m by 0.75m. It might be possible to manage with 14 panels. * ...to do the work of putting it back together; we aren't free to help with that (though we can give advice/info about how we took it down). We have already started taking it down and will be continuing to do so over the next week or so. If you cannot make use of the whole garage but can use some of the parts - eg just some of the wall panels, or the big garage door - let us know!

- A large piece of plasterboard left over from a DIY job. It is 525mm x 1800mm. (NB The much smaller piece pictured is no longer available). Please say (in your first message) when you would be free to collect, and please give more than one option for collection day. People that do this will be given priority over those that don't.
