Hi everyone, I hope it’s okay for me to post this here. I’m reaching out because I’m in a situation where I could really use some kindness and support from the local community. I am a single mum with my baby, and after having to leave our previous situation because of domestic violence, we have been living in temporary accommodation while trying to rebuild our lives. We have now been offered a permanent home in Shildon, which I am incredibly grateful for. This home means so much to us because it gives my baby and me the opportunity to finally have some stability and start again. However, because we had to leave everything behind and because we are currently struggling financially, we are starting almost from scratch. It is going to take time for us to get the basic things we need for our new home. If anyone in the Shildon area has any unwanted or spare household items, furniture, kitchen items, bedding, baby items, curtains, storage, or anything else that could help us make our new house into a home, we would be incredibly grateful. Even something small would make a huge difference to us. Please don't feel that you need to buy anything — second-hand, unwanted or unused items would be absolutely appreciated. I know everyone has their own circumstances, so there is absolutely no pressure. I am simply reaching out because we are trying our best to rebuild our lives, little by little, and any kindness from the community would mean more to us than I can explain.
