The Cambridge Room Repair Cafe: is a "repair your life" cafe
Lead organiser, Cambridge Retrofit Hub, works in partnership with Cambridge Room and Cambridge Carbon Footprint to deliver this "repair your life" repair cafe with volunteer repairers and home energy advisors.
We welcome you anytime from 9am until last drop-in checkins at 12pm. Our address is at Cambridge Room, Unit 55, The Grafton Centre (opposite Boots), just 2 doors up from our old unit at Unit 57.
No need to book, just turn up with your item needing repair and whilst you wait consult our volunteer home energy advisors about how to reduce energy and water use in your home and find out more about Cambridge Retrofit Hub and Cambridge Room.
Our experienced volunteer repairers will do their best to fix things such as electronics, electro-mechanicals, small mechanical items and clothing. Sorry we don't take microwaves, air fryers. Repairs are free; any donations will go to pay volunteer expenses and home energy advisor training for new volunteers for this role.
Our experienced volunteer home energy advisors will guide you in the energy and water saving measures you could make to the home you live in, measures appropriate to your living circumstances, in rental or ownership.
How to get here: The Grafton Centre is a 20 minute walk from Cambridge Railway Station. There is bike parking available on Fitzroy and Burleigh Street. The four Park and Ride services stop at the Graton Bus Interchange every 10 mins and the Grafton Centre has two car parks (Sat Nav reference: CB1 1DB). Access information: Blue Badge parking bays are located on Level 4 of Grafton East car park. The Grafton Centre has a Shopmobility office on Level 4 of the Grafton East car park, where customers can borrow electric mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, push wheelchairs, or rollators. There are lifts available for accessing different floors within the centre. New toilets, including disabled toilets, are located on the first floor, accessible via lift.
This event is insured by Wessex Insurance, an insurance policy hosted by Cambridge Carbon Footprint supporting the CCF Cambridgeshire network of repair cafes.
