Repair Café: Buckden Village Hall
Sunday, 21 June 2026
13:30 – 16:30
13:30 – 16:30
What better way to spend the summer solstice than at our special Fathers' Day Repair Cafe?!
Don't go out and buy something new this Fathers' Day - does your dad have something broken that needs fixing? Perhaps a dodgy cable on the hedge trimmer, the slipping gears on his bicycle, or the seam on his favourite pair of trousers, or perhaps the garden tools need sharpening? Our fabulous repairers might be able to fix them for free, while you treat your wonderful dad to a cup of tea and a slice of cake from our delicious cafe.
Bookings will open on May 18th. To pre-book, contact us at RepairCafe@buckdenpc.org.uk or follow this link to complete our booking form: <https://bit.ly/BuckdenRepairCafe>. Paper copies will also be available in Buckden Library or from the Village Hall.
You can just turn up on the day but may have to wait. Never mind though, there’ll be tea, cakes/savouries to purchase at the Café. If you’ve nothing to be mended, please do join us for a cuppa.
Thank you to everyone who came to our last event in February. We repaired an incredible 56 items and only 5 items couldn't be fixed and had to be consigned to the bin. The generous donations received are really helping us to keep this popular event going - thank you everyone!
If you would be interested in joining the team of helpers or would like to become a volunteer repairer please contact the Parish Clerk: clerk@buckdenpc.org.uk
== Hosted by Buckden PC Repair Cafe ==
The Climate Change Mitigation Advisory Group of the Parish Council are working to make a more sustainable future for the village. One of the things we want to do is to reduce the amount of “stuff” that people buy and send to landfill.
We hope that by holding a repair cafe at least twice a year we might be able to start to decrease things bought and disposed off unnecessarily. We also want to provide a community focus for more action on tackling climate change.
Currently run by a core group of eight volunteers, we would love to welcome anyone who is interested in the Repair Café movement to join us, especially anyone with repair skills.
