Repair Café: Youthbuild Ventures UK
Saturday, 13 June 2026
12:00 – 15:00
12:00 – 15:00
Bring your broken electronics, textiles and costume jewellery and sit down with experienced fixers to fix them for free, with their support!
Get involved in the fixing process and experience the beauty of community repair events. Aside from reducing waste and extending the life of your items, this is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more from fixers about how to repair your items. No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and willingness to learn!
Please book a fixing slot vie the Eventbrite page linked.
Walk ins are also welcome (12:00-14:30). We will do our best to squeeze you in, but please be aware that we can’t guarantee that a fixer will be available to look at your item. You may also have to wait to be seen by a fixer.
Stay on after the event for our first social 🥳
Open to everyone already involved in Thamesmead Repair Cafes and anyone who'd like to see what it's about. There are plenty of ways to take part- from cake baking to tea/coffee making, fixing, hosting, helping organise the repair cafes and more. Grab a cuppa, meet like-minded people and find out more information about events.
We're also keen to collaborate with other local organisations and community groups, so please feel free to join and connect if these events align nicely with your activities and work.
Please note:
* We will not repair mobile phones, tablets, laptop screens without replacement parts, large battery packs (e.g., e-bikes, scooters), microwaves, power tools, or large appliances that cannot be carried by hand.
* We can attempt to repair most textile items, including clothing and bags. We can only accept items that need repairing and are not an alteration service. We can also help creatively upcycle items that are stained or marked. Please remember to bring any items like a new zip or replacement buttons with you.
* As a general rule, we can look at one item per person. You will be assigned a repair slot. If we are able to look at more than one item with you in the time assigned to that slot, we would be happy to.
* Our fixers will do their very best to diagnose and fix your item. However, this isn’t always possible. If it's not possible, our fixers will help you diagnose the issue and identify potential next steps.
* We’re happy to help you learn how to repair. We are not repair professionals, and Repair Cafes are a community self-repair space. Attending means that you take responsibility for your own gadget. Please back up your data.
Refreshments will be provided.
Volunteers also welcome to attend to help or shadow
Any questions please contact london@therestartproject.org.
