Give your favourite clothes a second life! Together, let’s reduce textile waste, repair instead of replace, and build a more sustainable community - one stitch at a time! The St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association (SLNA) ReMarket, Repair Café Toronto and Jamii are partnering for the very first Community Clothing Repair Day. This is a free event! Drop in between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm (repairs will continue until 4:00 pm). Bring one item of clothing you’d like repaired and volunteer menders will do their best to fix it during the day. First come, first served. When you arrive, we will assess the item and give you an estimated time for the repair. Arrive between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm for the best chance of having your item repair completed. NOTE: We will help with simple repairs such as sewing on buttons, mending small tears or holes, fixing open seams, simple patches, basic hems and other quick mending jobs. We may not be able to repair major alterations, complex zipper replacements, leather or specialty fabrics, or items requiring extensive reconstruction or repair beyond what can be completed during the event. The Jamii Hub is wheelchair accessible and accessible washrooms are available on site.
