Repair Café: The Polar Museum
Saturday, 5 September 2026
11:00 – 14:00
11:00 – 14:00
Bring along your broken item and an experienced volunteer repairer will help you fix it – or at least have a good go trying! We can tackle a wide variety of repairs including clothes, textiles, jewellery and other items. We are not repairing any electricals, electronics or bikes at this repair cafe. The repairers are brilliant and can fix a lot of things but there are no guarantees.
Bookings for this event will open in July.
It’s a free event but donations are welcome. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available free of charge. There are also cafes and restaurants nearby on Regent Street.
The central Cambridge bus station and railway station are within 20 minutes' walk. Cycle parking is available. Car parking is only available to blue badge holders on request. There is also free parking for blue badge holders outside the museum.
This event is run in partnership with Cambridge Carbon Footprint and insured by Wessex Insurance. == Hosted by University of Cambridge Repair Cafe ==
We are bringing together technical professionals and other staff to create a community of repairers.
Ultimately we want to share and showcase our knowledge and skills and to engage with the wider community around the city and beyond!
To this end we are working with the Cambridge Carbon Footprint and have already hosted their 'Cambridge Crotch Repair Workshop'. We have established a repair cafe session for April 2025 and are looking to run sessions termly, rotating across our various sites.
For initial enquires please contact John via e-mail at jan35@cam.ac.uk
