Rolleston Repair Cafe - October 2026
Saturday, 10 October 2026
10:00 – 13:00
10:00 – 13:00
Don't Toss It—Fix It! 🛠️
Do you have a toaster that's lost its spark? Is your bicycle gathering dust, or a favourite t-shirt coming apart at the seams? Don't toss them out, bring them to the October Repair Café!
We are all about giving your items a second lease on life. Our skilled volunteers are ready to help you troubleshoot, fix, and learn how to maintain your belongings, keeping them out of the landfill and in use.
Here's what we're planning:
* Electrical & Electronics: Household Appliances and Computers
* Clothing and Textile Repairs
* General Repairs
* Garden Machinery: Lawnmowers, line trimmers, and other small petrol or electric garden engines.
* Jewellery
* Scissor and Knife Sharpening: (Max 1-2, sorry, no garden tools)
How it Works
To help our volunteers bring the right tools and parts, please register with a brief description of the item and the issue.
Register: https://events.humanitix.com/repair-cafe-oct-26
If you haven't registered, you’re still welcome to drop in on the day.
We start at 10 AM. Please ensure items are brought in by 1 PM so our team has enough time to take a look. All items must be collected by 2 PM.
Location: Rolleston Community Centre.
When: Saturday, 10th October 2026 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
This is a community-led project, not a professional repair service. Our wonderful volunteers will do their best to attempt a repair or offer advice. The organisers cannot be held liable for any loss, damage or accident arising from the repair process or from the use of the item subsequently.
Our Sponsors
Ngā mihi maioha to the incredible sponsors who make these events possible: Rata Foundation, Selwyn District Council, COGS, Lottery Community, Lincoln University, Creative Communities Scheme, Lincoln Community Trust, and the Lincoln Community Committee.
== Hosted by Rolleston Repair Café ==
Every year on the weekend after International Repair Day in October, we hold a special Repair Cafe.
Is your bicycle gathering dust in the garage? Do you have a toaster that's lost its spark? Don't toss them out just yet! We're excited to announce our Repair Café event, where we're giving new life to your ageing or broken items.
Our skilled volunteers will be on hand to help repair a variety of items, from bikes to electronics, clothing to household appliances, and more.
