Persicaria is an unusual plant that blooms at this time of year. The blooms are small bright pink flowers that come on a stem that forms an arc. In the spring when it first comes up it adds interest to the garden because it has a dark colored V marking on the green leaves.

This lawn mower needs carburetor work. It runs for a few seconds after I spray starting fluid (ether) in the air filter, then it dies. Disclaimer: I pulled it off the curb on trash day, I don't know its history. It also needs and oil change, and one wheel is a bit wobbly. Easy driveway pickup, south of Ypsilanti near Textile and Whittaker.
