Had in use for roughly 6 years, still works, but less efficient than original and noisier than original It either fills the bucket or can be re-directed through a hose (primarily the way we used it). Doesn't have an automatic defrost option, I plugged it into a timer to let it cycle off an hour every 12 which was effective to manage ice build up Replaced for efficiency and quieter unit
