2012 macbook charger (Haythorne Common BH21)

Does anyone by any chance have a spare charger for an older MacBook? It is sort of more chunky and elongated compared to later ones. I bought a 'new' one off the internet and I suspect there is a loose wire in it as it is quite a feat to get the lead into a position which charges. As the laptop is still working on its original battery It's not worth paying apple prices for a new charger!
