This is probably a long shot but maybe someone has some old woodturning tools kicking around which they inherited and have no use for. They look like what's in the attached photo – longish handles on a steel shaft of some kind. Not to be confused with wood chisels which have much shorter handles.
I took up woodturning about six months ago and immediately took to it. I bought a cheap set of turning tools which I am quickly wearing out so I am starting to look around for replacements.
Anyway, I thought I would ask here. (If you are looking for a fun hobby which requires a bit of skill, I would recommend woodturning. Check out the Artisans Asylum in Allston or North Bennet Street School for classes. I think Rockler offers classes too.)
