This is a little esoteric, but - a homemade Van DeGraaff generator...
From one of my kids' high school science fair projects, we never did get it working. Made of PVC, aluminum foil, plywood, and there's an allegedly static-friendly vaccuum cleaner belt running inside it.
Pictured is the main shaft and a wand that plugs in and is intended to conduct the static charge.
NOT pictured (but included) is the stainless steel ball that would sit on top.
If some kind science-minded person doesn't want it by Friday, I'll be dismantling it for parts and recycling...
