humidifier for my pup (van nuys)

hi y'all. So I'm in desperate need of humidifier for my dog.
Recommended iby vet, humidifier or to turn on the hot water for every 4 hours for her she , so she can get the steam... I would think that would be way more expensive. Also fighting an illegal eviction, I just don't have funds right now to get it to help her breathe and not cough up a lung or worse, she does have a heart murmur and a collapsed trachea, I'm able to pick up was in 5 mi radius please please please if you have one please advise thank you so much for your time
